Time-Varying Optimization of LTI Systems Via Projected Primal-Dual Gradient Flows

This paper investigates the problem of regulating in real time a linear dynamical system to solution trajectory time-varying constrained convex optimization problem. The proposed feedback controller is based on an adaptation saddle-flow dynamics, modified take into account projections constraint sets and output-feedback from plant. We derive sufficient conditions tunable parameters (inherently related time-scale separation between plant dynamics) guarantee exponential input-to-state stability closed-loop system. analysis tailored case strongly cost functions polytopic output constraints. theoretical results are further validated ramp metering control network traffic highways.
